Bishop to Visit St. Mary's

Tues. May 27th at 7pm: All welcome to attend.

Bishop Galante is scheduled to visit us at St. Mary's Malaga at 7pm. Adoration throughout the day. Please attend. (I myself have had to take off of work that night. Make the sacrifice. Bring the children if you can.) It will be good for us to have the opportunity to present our side of the argument to keep St. Mary's OPEN.

Let us continue to pray that the Holy Ghost will inspire the bishop to do God's will in all things, that the Holy Ghost will inspire us to do God's will in all things, and that St. Mary's--along with all the other "viable" and "vibrant" churches in the diocese--will remain open. We know that it is God's will that St. Mary's exist now and into the future. Let us continue to pray for the bishop and for St. Mary's. (And don't forget to pray for the courage and holiness of the priests of the diocese.)

Take up the rosary, the holy weapon of Our Lady.

That's good news! I just hope the Bishop is actually coming to listen this time around. But I don't know - until he says unequivocally that St. Mary's will not be merging, we cannot let our guard down, even for a second. We must continue to fight with passion and commitment. Let our vibrancy be measured by the lengths we take to protect our parish!

I'm skeptical. Maybe he thinks he can come down, spew his patronizing schpeel . . . and we'll go away? I think we need to make quite clear to the Bishop that we have no intention of entertaining anything less than a full commitment in writing and to the media that St. Mary's will remain open indefinitely. I don't trust him at all. Or his feminazi-nun companion. And why is she here anyway?

Did anyone see the Star Herald this week? WHY IS HE SENDING PRIESTS TO GERMANY?? How can this bishop talk about an impending priest shortage and yet continue to squander our priestly resources!! This is an outrage and I pray these priests stand up for their rights and formally appeal!

Why Save St. Mary's?

What's true for OL Queen of Peace, Pitman & Assumption, Wildwood Crest is also true for St. Mary's Malaga:

"The people in Pitman bought that ground and built that church and it belongs to them. You can't just take it away."

-Anthony Mecca, Queen of Peace Parish, Pitman (also on the slate for closure), May 8, 2008

"This is God's house. Let us live here with God as we've done all these years."

-Fred Spiewak, Assumption Parish, Wildwood Crest, June 11, 2008
