Why Save St. Mary's?
What's true for OL Queen of Peace, Pitman & Assumption, Wildwood Crest is also true for St. Mary's Malaga:
"The people in Pitman bought that ground and built that church and it belongs to them. You can't just take it away."-Anthony Mecca, Queen of Peace Parish, Pitman (also on the slate for closure), May 8, 2008
"This is God's house. Let us live here with God as we've done all these years."
-Fred Spiewak, Assumption Parish, Wildwood Crest, June 11, 2008

St. Joseph's in Woodstown has now joined with the Council of Parishes of South Jersey and we are looking forward to meeting others from St. Ann's in Elmer this week.
It was either the 50's or 60's that Father Moore traveled between St. Joseph's in Woodstown and St. Ann's in Elmer. There is no reason why this can't be done today! St. Joe's and St. Ann's should remain open as separate parishes.
And before that 1743 Alloway, St. Joseph's present day parish area, priests were riding horseback while wearing disguises and dodging bullets to celebrate Masss.
There have been more "closures" then "clusters" in the Camden Diocese. Do you really believe that there is a shortage of priests? There was no planning in regards to obtaining more priests or anything. In a past Today's Sunbeam local newspaper article, Tom Pankok of St. Mary's in Salem had great ideas to solve the Camden Diocese's claims to a priest shortage.
This whole planning process to close down our churches has been very misleading, sinful and spiritually unproductive.
perpast Today's Sunbeam article, Father Edward Friel on behalf of the Bishop, priests, deaneries, and parishes gave a formal statement in regards to church closures in Salem County which includes St. Joe's and St. Ann's. So, thank you Father Ed and Bishop Galante for closing our churches in Salem County and all over the Camden Diocese.
The closing of any church in this Camden Diocese is a sin because it will only lead to the further destruction of the Catholic Church because many people will leave God altogether.
OUR CHURCHES IN THE CAMDEN DIOCESE WERE BUILT BY THOSE OF THE TRUE CATHOLIC FAITH WHO FACED SEVERE RELIGIOUS PERSECUTION AND NOW THESE SAME CHURCHES ARE BEING CLOSED DOWN FOREVER BY THE LUKEWARM BISHOP GALANTE.
WE WILL CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR YOU
ALSO, THE CAMDEN DIOCESE NEEDS TO STOP TALKING BAD ABOUT THE LOCAL FARMERS .HILE YOUR MOUTH IS FULL. NO WONDER WE DON'T HAVE A CATHOLIC RURAL MINISTRY LIKE THEY DO IN OTHER AGRICULTURE STATES. THE PEOPLE, PRIESTS, NUNS ECT. RALLY TO PROTECT ALL ASPECTS OF AGRICULTURE AND UNFAIR GOVERNMENT LEGISLATION. WHERE WAS THE CAMDEN DIOCESE WHEN WE FARMERS WERE RALLYING TO SAVE THE GARDEN STATE (OUR WAY OF LIFE AND LIVLIHOOD) BISHOP GALLANTE WAS TOO BUSY CLOSING OUR CHURCHES DOWN.
